Van Eyck Revisited

In January 2021, the International Clarinet Competition Ghent will be organised for the fifth time. For this lustrum edition, artistic director Eddy Vanoosthuyse challenged three prominent Belgian composers to write a set piece for the competition, inspired by the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, the magnificent altarpiece by the Van Eyck brothers. Eddy Vanoosthuyse recorded these compulsory pieces in advance with pianist Vitaly Samoshko (winner of the 1999 edition of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition), with the Flemish Radio Choir, and with the Brussels Philharmonic.
