Dirk Brossé is an internationally acclaimed Belgian conductor and composer, currently Music Director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and professor at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. He has led major orchestras worldwide—including the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and made debuts at London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Carnegie Hall—and is the composer of over 400 works spanning symphonic music, chamber works, concerti, film, and stage, including the Emmy-nominated score for Parade’s End. A pioneer in bringing film music to the concert stage, he was handpicked by John Williams to conduct the Star Wars in Concert World Tour and serves as director of the World Soundtrack Academy. Honored with numerous awards, including Belgium’s highest royal distinction, the Order of Leopold, Brossé is recognized as one of Belgium’s foremost cultural ambassadors.
