In Lux Amoris Aeterni (The Radiance of Eternal Love), guitarist Tatiana Kurenchakova captures the essence of divine love through the classical guitar. The album brings together pieces from various periods and cultures. Each piece evokes a sense of spiritual presence in its own unique way. From Brouwer's rhythmic Rito de los Orishas, to Dyens' more introspective Santo Tirso, the pieces demonstrate a variety of approaches to religious and spiritual themes. Kurenchakova highlights the unique style of each composer, bringing out the ideas behind the music. Barrios Mangoré, Domeniconi, and Borodaev incorporate elements of older musical traditions, while Penicaud's 'Pater Noster' puts a new musical spin on ancient texts. Together, these pieces form a link between musical and spiritual reflections across time and culture.
With her expertise and experience, Kurenchakova strikes a careful balance between precision and emotion. The performance pays attention to both technical details and musical expression, offering listeners a deeper insight into the emotional and spiritual dimensions of each piece. Lux Amoris Aeterni offers a deep reflective experience in which the music invites the listener to feel and experience a gentle, continuous presence of light and peace.
