Like yesterday I remember the first time that I heard Britten’s Suite for harp. I only played the harp a couple of years and listening to this music was really breathtaking! I never heard this kind of techniques on harp, it sounded extremely contemporary in my ears, but also very familiar. At that age I never stopped at the thought, why I was so attracted to this piece, but it never let me go.

When I was studying at the conservatory and I finally could set my teeth in this piece, I was happy as a baby. So much detailed information in one score! for harp!! Every teacher had is own say and ideas on this piece, sometimes very divergent views. For me this pointed out that the Suite is a very important piece for our repertoire, that is how it became my starting point in this story and my first recording for my gps.
