Frédéric Devreese

Frédéric Devreese was a Belgian composer, conductor and promoter of young musical talent whose versatile output included orchestral, chamber, piano, opera, ballet and film music. Born into a family of musicians, he studied composition and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, later continuing his studies in Rome and Vienna. His career in film and television began at Belgian Radio and Television (BRT), where he worked as a director and producer before becoming known for his film scores, including La Partie d’Échecs, L’Œuvre au Noir and Het Sacrament.
