Artist

Lore Binon

Lore Binon obtained her Master’s degree in violin at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels (RCB) with Yuzuko Horigome (2008). Along the way she discovers her vocal skills and pursues her musical education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance at RCB with Beatrijs De Vos and a Master’s degree (magna cum laude) at the Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya in Barcelona and the Conservatoire of Amsterdam with Valérie Guillorit.

All round : the artist revealed herself as a particular multivalent singer and enjoys widespread recognition for excelling in various styles and repertoires. She’s held in high regard both by the leading figures in early music and historically informed trends, as by the followers of modern practice. Also recents appearances do testify to it. Be it as singer and dancer in Il delirio amoroso (Haendel) choreographed by Sigrid t ́Hooft alongside the Budapest Festival Orchestra, as Sorge and Magnapeccatrix in Szenen
aus Goethes Faust (Schumann) in a staged production led by Philippe Herreweghe and as Vigdis, the title
role in the world premiere led by Koen Kessels of The Convert (Wim Henderickx) both at Flanders Opera
and in several roles in Atys (JB Lully) under Leonardo Garcia Alarcon at Grand Théâtre Geneva and the Opera House at the Versailles Castle.

Mozart coloured Lore’s first steps on the opera stage. To start with her debut as Barbarina (Nozze di Figaro) alongside the Freiburger Baroque Orchestra under René Jacobs then for her first Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at Flanders opera. Then Mélisande popped up and became one of her fetish roles.
Lore Binon loves to walk on the thin line between opera & music theatre. A repertoire she has a soft spot for, with plenty appearances in Children of Nowhere (LOD-muziektheater), Revelations & The
Valley (Muziektheater Transparant), the by YAMaward granted Berberio (Zonzo compagnie), In my
end is my beginning (Imago Mundi), Loopstation (Ontroerend Goed) and in Love, you son of a bitch at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, her debut in the house.

As a result of her truly interest in contemporary music, Lore Binon has repeatedly been invited to interpret Claude Vivier’s Lonely child with Brussels Philharmonic, Arnold Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire,
next to Steve Reich’s Drumming and The Rise,at the renowned Musica-Festival, in Strasbourg.
In this repertoire the artist works regularly together with the Ictus and Spectra ensembles
Lore Binon has appeared In works by Bach, Haendel, Mozart Haydn alongside baroque orchestras such as : Freiburger Barockorchester, B’rock, Anima Eterna and the Dutch Bach Society. Other concert repertoire by Mendelssohn, Brahms and Mahler led to a strong relationships with Brussels Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège, the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, the Belgian national Orchestra ... Equally inspiring have been the concerts sung under de baton of Lothar Koenigs, Michel Tabachnik, Richard Egarr, Ilan Volkov, Philippe Herreweghe, Leonardo Garcia Alarcon, Sergey Malov ... in main concert halls, as Salle Pleyel, Palau de la musica, Tchaikovsky-Hall, De Doelen, Bozar Brussels, Flagey, deSingel, Concertgebouw Brugge ...

Her genuine affinity for chamber music has taken her to festivals such as Schiermonnikoog, Yaroslav (RUS), Operadagen Rotterdam, Valletta Baroque Festival (Malta), MA-Festival-Bruges and the Flanders Festival Mechelen, mostly together with Oxalys, Zefiro Torna, Il Gardellino and A Nocte Temporis. She’s co-founder of Revue blanche. A vocal-instrumental ensemble having in no time notched up a great track record and greatly fulfilled the KLARA-AWARD-2013 for Most promising Ensemble.
