Peter Pieters

Peter Pieters is a Belgian organist, composer, and educator. A laureate of the Lemmensinstituut Leuven, where he studied organ, composition, and fugue, he has been professor of organ, improvisation, and accompaniment at LUCA School of Arts and titular organist of Mechelen’s St. Rumbold’s Cathedral since 1986. He has performed at major organ festivals in Belgium and abroad, and his compositions include vocal, chamber, orchestral, and choral-orchestral works such as Mater et advocata nostra, Le chemin de la Croix, and the oratorio Het Gekkendorp. Pieters has also recorded widely, with releases on Klara and EMI.
