Johannes Brahms

Johannes Brahms (1833–1897) was a German composer, pianist, and conductor. Rooted in the Classical tradition yet responsive to the Romantic spirit, he developed a personal style marked by structural clarity and expressive intensity. His works include four symphonies, concertos for piano and violin, chamber music, choral works, and a large body of piano music and songs. Active as both performer and conductor, he was a central figure in 19th-century European musical life and remains a cornerstone of the concert repertoire.
