George Balint

George Balint (1961–2019) was a Romanian composer and conductor. He studied composition at the National University of Music in Bucharest with Stefan Niculescu and orchestral conducting with Iosif Conta, Constantin Bugeanu, and Cristian Brâncuşi, earning a Master’s degree in 2001 and later a Doctorate in Music. Balint served as conductor at the National Operetta Theatre in Bucharest. His compositions often integrate folkloric elements with harmonic and timbral exploration, creating music marked by lyricism, introspection, and nuanced expressive depth.
