Erika Budai

Erika Budai (b. 1966, Tienen) is a Belgian composer, pianist, and educator, renowned for her choral and chamber music. Trained at the Lemmensinstituut Leuven and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she studied composition, orchestration, and electronic music, and attended masterclasses with Stockhausen, Rihm, and Ferneyhough. Budai has composed over 160 works, commissioned by ensembles such as the Vlaams Radiokoor and Festival Van Vlaanderen, and her music is published by Euprint, First Class Projects, and Intrada. She teaches harmony and composition at the Stedelijk Conservatorium Leuven and serves as juror at international competitions, while organizing the composers’ platform De Kleine Amadeus.
