Calliope Tsoupaki (b. 1963, Piraeus, Greece) is a leading composer based in the Netherlands, where she studied with Louis Andriessen. Known for her timeless, melodic, and emotionally rich music, she weaves together elements of early and contemporary traditions with influences from Greece and the Middle East, creating a distinctive personal style. Her catalogue of over 100 works spans opera, orchestral, chamber, vocal, and multidisciplinary projects, often incorporating instruments from diverse cultures. Celebrated works include Fortress Europe, Mariken in the Garden of Delights, St. Luke Passion, Oidipous, and Triptychon. Tsoupaki has collaborated with renowned artists and ensembles worldwide and is Professor of Composition at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.
